Retired Member Leonard Bowers, Jr. of Knoxville, TN passed away on November 30, 2021.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Rose Funeral & Cremation located at 1421 Broadway, Knoxville, TN with a Celebration of Life to follow at 6:30 PM.  Graveside Service will be Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Veterans Cemetary on John Sevier Highway at 8:30 AM.

Lonnie R. Hunley

Obituary for Lonnie Richard Hunley

Lonnie Richard Hunley age 78, of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Fort Sanders Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He was active and loved his community. He coached his daughters’ youth softball and basketball teams in the Gibbs community. He was active in the Gibbs Ruritan Club for many years. He was president of the IBEW local 760 for over 40 years. His other accomplishments within the union include serving on the ETAK Committee, instructor at the IBEW/NECA Training Center and starting the ETACK Training Center for which the building is named in his honor. He retired from TVA after working for more than 55 years as an electrician. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Hunley, father, Alondzo H. Hunley, stepmother, Lorene Hunley, and brother, Sonny Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Hunley, daughters: Teresa Dillard and Robin Hunley Favaro; grandchildren: Nick Favaro, Andrew Favaro, Jason Dillard, Tracy Barringer – spouse Christopher; brother, Gary Hunley, and sisters: Patricia Egnoto, Gwen Oaks, and Candy Harris. The family will gather at 6:00 pm Tuesday, September 21, 2021 outside at the IBEW Training Center 6107 Central Avenue Pike Knoxville, TN 37912, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6:30 pm with AJ Person officiating. Dress is casual. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. An online obituary may be viewed and condolences made at www.rosefuneraltn.com.

Lonnie R. Hunley

Lonnie R. Hunley, Past President for almost 40 years and Past Trustee on the ETAK Committee, joined Local 760 on May 25, 1966            passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021.  Lonnie wore many hats in Local 760, his biggest was starting the ETAK Training Center on          Central Avenue Pike.  The Training Center is named Lonnie R Hunley Building.  He was retired form TVA Maintenance and retired from     Local 760 in January 2021.  Please keep his family in your prayers.

Retired Member Oxie “JR” Russell, father of Don Russell with Local 270, passed away on August 19, 2021.  Brother Russell had been a member of the IBEW since September 4, 1964.  The family planned a private service.
