Our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called our beloved Rickey L. Jones to his heavenly home today, Friday, June 16, 2023.

Rickey was born July 7, 1960 to James and Wilma Jones whom were there to meet him as the gate of Heaven opened.

He was employed twenty four years with IBEW Local Union 760 as an electrician.

Rickey was a working man but loved spending time boating and fishing with his buddy Brett Michael.

He is survived by the love of his life Sandra B. Jones; son, Bradley (Megan) Jones, Brett Michael Jones of the home; grandchildren, Raleigh and Ellis Jones; and Travis W. Manis whom he loved as a son; sisters, Karen “Tottie” (J. Gordon) Dalton and Teresa (Fred) Wade; special aunts and uncles; Catherine Norton, Darryl ( Wanda) Valentine and Dennis (Rella) Jones; his adoring nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, P.J. Manis; sister-in-laws, Donna Call , Kathy Manis and Tammy Manis.

A special thank you to IBEW Janice and Flo, and to UT Hospice and our own special nurse Heather.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday June 21, 2023 at 3:00pm at Berry Highland South Cemetery, 160 E. Simpson Rd., Knoxville, TN 37920, in the Garden of Valor. Service will be officiated by Rev. Tommy Manis and Rev. Fred Wade. Pallbearers; best friend and IBEW brother Aaron Prince, Jr., Gordon Dalton, Joseph Dalton, Travis Manis, David Nelson, and Aaron Wade.

Obituary — Gene A. Stokes

Gene Allen Stokes age 84 of Lenoir City passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at his home. He was born in Decatur, TN to James and Ollie Hampton Stokes. Gene was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Earlene Stokes, his parents, and his siblings: brothers: Russell, Marvin, and Charlie Stokes; sisters: Reba Cordell, Mattie Bowman, Nettie Price, Joann Stokes, and Betty Dyer.

He is survived by his children and spouses: Sandy and Mike Shubert, Chris and Karen Stokes, Jenni and Darrin John; special friend Becky Sullivan; grandchildren: Michael (April) Shubert, Gracie (Corey) Allen, Madeline and Mia Kate Stokes, Kyra John, Breanna (James) White, and Stokes John; great grandchildren: Kazlie, Myla, and Makaylyn Shubert, Sophie and Zoey Allen, and Elijah White; brother and best friend, Leon Stokes, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dad was an electrical lineman for over 40 years and at the young age of 50, decided to open his own electrical contracting company, Tellico Electric. He was an antique car enthusiast, loved music and playing the guitar, but his greatest joy was his family. Especially his grandchildren and whatever sport or activity they were into. If they had a game or recital and you weren’t there, you were going to hear about how amazing they performed when he spoke with you.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Mose Premji, Dr. Daniel Ibach and staff, the staff at NHC Farragut, Samantha and Shane with Amedisys, and Candace and Rob with Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in dads memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dewey Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Loudon Co. Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. Obituary — Duie D. Swicegood

Duie Dallas Swicegood, age 94, of Harriman, TN passed away on the morning of May 31st, 2023. He was born in Harriman, Tennessee on March 3rd, 1929, to parents Elmer and Bessie Swicegood. Duie was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1949 – 1952. During his service, he served on the submarines SS419-USS Tigrone and SS344-USS Cobbler. Duie retired from Y-12 and was also a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 760 where he was a lifetime member. He was a member of Southgate Masonic Lodge #569, the Knoxville Scottish Rite, and Kerbela Shriners where he was a member of the 100 Million Dollar Club. Duie enjoyed driving the go-carts for parades and during the Shrine Circus. He was preceded in death by parents Elmer Franklin Swicegood and Bessie Swicegood, brothers Clyde Swicegood and Norman Swicegood, sisters Violet Bowling and Iris Greene, children Carl Swicegood, Quintin Swicegood, and Tina Kay Scudder.

He is survived by his son Joe Swicegood, and grandchildren Candice Swicegood, Joshua Swicegood, Steven Swicegood, Cassie Swicegood, Hailey Swicegood and Eric Scudder, sister Ardy Farmer.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman. A Masonic Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 p.m. conducted by Southgate Masonic Lodge #569 F. & A.M. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Mason Goodman and Rev. Nancy Coleman officiating. Burial 12 Noon Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Roane Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. Kyker Funeral Home of Harriman is serving the Swicegood Family.
