Mitchell Lynn McClung, age 56, of Lenoir City, Tennessee, formerly of Sweetwater, Tennessee, passed away on July 10, 2023, at his home.

Mitch never met a stranger. His laugh was infectious, and he loved life. He always made you think he was sharing a special secret with you, and he was. He loved hunting and fishing and spent some of the happiest hours of his life on the lake of in a tree stand. He loved every sport and was a Tennessee Vols fan through and through. Mitch believed in living life to the fullest, and he never missed an opportunity to have a good time. He was loyal and dedicated for thirty-five years to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Working meant everything to him. He loved his family and time spent with them. You couldn’t be around him and not be laughing at something crazy and off the wall he had said. He was one of a kin d and will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his dad: Beryl Richard McClung; his maternal grandparents: Homer and Lennie Stephens; parental grandparents: Add and Nancy McClung

Survivors include his wife: Lynette Anderson McClung, of Lenoir City, Formerly of Murphy North Carolina; mother: Winona McClung, of Sweetwater; brother: Mark (Lisa) McClung, of Madisonville; stepson: Matt (Brittany) McRae, of Murphy, North Carolina; stepdaughter: Erika McRae, of Andrews, North Carolina; several grandchildren and many special friends, who were with him until the end of his life here on Earth.

The family will receive friends at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 5p.m. until 7p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 7p.m. with C.J. Sparks officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11p.m. in the Sweetwater Memorial Park
