“Cookout Essentials: We’ve been receiving several inquiries about what to bring to the upcoming cookout, especially since we’re expecting quite a few first-timers! First and foremost, bring yourself and your family. Get ready to spend the day eating fish, and celebrating IBEW Brotherhood. We can’t wait to see you there!
Now, let’s cover some important details:
1. Cash is King: There won’t be any ATMs available. Be sure to bring cash for t-shirts and raffle items. We’ll do our best to have plenty of change at each station. (There is an atm less than a mile away at weigels.)
2. Seating Considerations: While there are plenty of tables and chairs, it’s a good idea to toss a lawn chair in your car, just in case. You never know when an extra seat might come in handy.
3. Kid-Friendly Fun: BB Bouncers have generously donated a bounce house for the little ones. Also there will be water balloons/ water guns. If you’re bringing kids, pack sunscreen, bug spray, towels, and a change of clothes. They’ll be playing hard and loving every minute of it. Remember, children will be under your supervision during the event.
4. Sharing Is Caring: Want to contribute? Consider bringing sodas, waters, desserts, fruit trays,. Ice and large coolers are always in demand. Keep in mind that refrigerator space is limited, so bring completed items only. And don’t forget, we’ll need a cleanup crew, dishwashers, and trash helpers toward the end of the event.
